About Simple Video Search (SVS)
Purpose
Simple Video Search (SVS) was created to provide a clean, search-first entry point to major video platforms. Many platforms are optimized for discovery and engagement through recommendations and trending feeds. SVS focuses on a different use case: intentional search. You type a query and go directly to results.
How the Service Works
SVS does not host or stream videos. When a user submits a query, the site builds a search URL corresponding to the selected platform and redirects the browser to that platform’s results page. If supported, filtering parameters such as duration or upload date are included in the generated URL.
All video playback, recommendations, advertisements, and account features are controlled by the external platform. SVS does not alter results, bypass platform restrictions, or remove platform advertising.
What SVS Is (and Is Not)
- SVS is: a minimal search interface designed to reduce friction before reaching results.
- SVS is not: affiliated with or endorsed by any video platform.
- SVS is not: a video hosting service or a content distributor.
- SVS is not: a replacement for platform policies, features, or user agreements.
Independence
SVS is an independent project. All platform names and trademarks belong to their respective owners. References to platforms are used strictly for descriptive purposes.
Funding and Advertising
SVS may display limited advertising to support hosting and maintenance costs. Advertising is provided by third-party vendors such as Google AdSense. Ads appear only on the SVS website and do not affect external platform content.
Maintenance and Updates
SVS is maintained as a lightweight static project. Improvements may be made over time to enhance usability, accessibility, or compatibility with platform search parameters. The project aims to remain simple, transparent, and focused on its core function.
